Day 2

“If we were meant to stay in one place, we’d have roots instead of feet.”
Nobody wanted to wake up this morning, myself included. And after seeing the free breakfast options, we may as well have just slept through it. The twins liked the waffles, but I could have done without the omelette in a bag, yes, a plastic ziplock bag that you microwaved. 🤢
Usually Days Inn has a better selection. Today was not that day.

Unfortunately today was pretty boring- mostly driving. We did stop in Indianapolis to see the capital building:

We arrived at the lake house pretty late, and the little cousins were in bed. BUT- we had a HUGE surprise waiting for us!

And I can’t share the surprise yet!

Recap:
$100- mostly gas
568 miles

Today’s lessons:
1: My car is silent. Well, the kids are silent. I’m having my own karaoke session. Maybe that’s why they all have headphones on? 🤔
2: Google Maps will ping you in the middle of a trip if a faster route comes up as you are driving. Saved me 8 min of sitting in traffic!
3: I’m still trying to find the best way to do Blogger without WiFi- so some posts may be delayed... hoping to have that worked out by the end of the day.
4. The “My Favorite Murder” podcast is hilarious! Thank you Cindy Diesch for the recommendation!!

Song of the day: “Into Dust” - Mazzy Star

Looking forward to some lake time!
