Slightly Less Tentative Schedule

As a result of postponing our trip, we are now combining two trips together, which involved rerouting almost entirely! I have been frantically working to make changes and find alternate plans for us (my excuse for being on Pinterest all week).

Here is the updated map:

Now we will be spending some time with family at Lake Lanier in GA, then making our way up the east coast. NEW highlights are as follows:

Warped Tour in Indiana
Asylum tour in WV
Lake time with the cousins!!
Beach fire in OBX
Smithsonian Museum of American History
Bottling our own soda in NH
Acadia NP in Maine
Zipline at Niagara Falls

We are so fortunate that we have the flexibility to adapt our trip!
New tentative dates: 7/24-8/11(ish). Longer trip means lots of bonding and little separation/break time, so we shall see how temperaments hold out with my moody (near) teenagers...
Basically, that means we will see how far we can get before they are done. I'm hoping we can hit all of our stops, but we will be combining some states together into one day to prevent us from being gone for a month, and also to cut some corners just in case we decide to end the trip a little early. I'm still working out the details, and probably will be as we go haha! 😅

Adventure is out there! 🎈

“If we were meant to stay in one place, we’d have roots instead of feet.” Nobody wanted to wake up this morning, myself included. And after seeing the free breakfast options, we may as well have just slept through it. Day 14 and Final Day

Day 14: "Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving." - Terry Pratchett Let the train wreck continue...lol We got up and packed, as quiet as they have ever been, and we hit the road by 8am. We were slated to arrive at Niagara at 6p. And then 6p became 8p. And then 8p became 10p. And at which point I said forget it, we are headed home. Traffic continuously pushed our time back, and I was completely over paying tolls that are outrageously priced. And by the late afternoon, I think we all agreed that we would rather do Niagara right then try and fit it in, at night. Lots of lessons on this trip! We stopped at Albany, NY, and I feel that Albany really, and very accurately, summarized our trip. This was one of the weirdest, most random cities I have ever been in. There was just about every type of architecture in this city - and it felt like a forced mash-up smorgasbord of crazy. So yes, accurately describing our trip haha! (Albany, NY) ...

Day 9

We woke up - all of us exhausted, I think, and walked to the beach. The kids said they didn't want to swim today, but then ran right to the water when they saw the waves. We were able to watch some boarders, which was really cool. Also, the beach is always cool in the morning. Beach #2: Delaware Seashore State Park:   We repacked the entire car so there was some space, and headed out to D.C. via capital buildings. (Dover, DE) (Annapolis, MD) Annapolis looked like a very cool, very expensive town. I saw a yacht docked at someone's summer house!
